Samsung Galaxy S9 features one of the best smartphone cameras today

"Add one of the best smartphone zooms and a capable bokeh simulation mode to the mix, and the Galaxy S9 Plus is difficult to ignore for any photo-minded smartphone user". One runs on an Exynos 9810 processor, while the other uses a Snapdragon 845 SoC. The publication put the first through its paces in a series of tests and came away disappointed.

The specs speak for themselves in this category.

The iPhone X camera was given a score of 97 by DxOMark.

"There is no fun in hacking just a new release of the same system", Krissler said in an email.

Oppo, a company from China, has recently released several phones in New Zealand including the 5.5-inch A77 ($529) which looks like an iPhone.

The war between Samsung and Apple flagship devices seem age old now! The company best known for cheap groceries and $2 milk managed to beat every Australian telco on price and data. The S9 Plus comes with a camera that hasn't got any obvious weaknesses and performs very well across all photo and video test categories. Still, if you're going to be inspired by anyone, you may as well be inspired by the best.

Like its wireless carrier brethren, the self-proclaimed "Uncarrier" announced in Barcelona that it plans to start building its 5G network this year. Another review firm DPReview says the iPhone X camera delivers "extremely impressive" results. While the Galaxy S9+ scored 26.70 in the benchmark, the iPhone 8 scored 88.90 and iPhone X received 87.20 points. Both lenses have optical image stabilization and the main sensor has dual-pixel phase-detect autofocus. Fittingly, the device was also awarded the firm's highest-ever "Excellent A+" grade. The smartphone is rumoured to launch towards the end of 2018, or early next year. Previously Samsung had shown two versions of the Galaxy X behind closed doors at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas last month.

DxOMark praised the Galaxy S9+ camera performance, especially in low light conditions.

The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus have variable aperture lenses with apertures of f/2.4 and f/1.5.
